30 August: Misplaced shopping

Something just reminded me that I once went into a store to buy a pair of socks, and came out having bought a sofa.

Have you ever made a diverted purchase?

Was it W.H. Smiths Stitch?

The best place for diverted purchases is Argos, particularly if you are numerically dyslexic and cack-handed with very small pens.

Fascinating - It couldn't be DFS so it must have been Debenhams or similar.
I'm quite sensible as long as I'm sober - a problem you wouldn't have.

It was in Newcastle....

And it was in my drinking days, but I may have been fairly sober at the time.

Kerry, I'm with you there, sister. Sainsbury's shopping list= apples, organic milk, red onions. Receipt = new jeans and earrings, red hair dye, red wine, goats cheese and interesting bread selection, apples, figs....... And does everyone's bill always end up about £54, or is it just me!!

Hello, yellow - no, it's not just you, or Sainsbury's; also me, at Tesco's and Asda.
